Imagine going on a date with your grandmother in tow! In each episode, one person goes to a restaurant looking for love. They will have three dates over a three-course meal. The twist is that they will be able to hear their grandmother’s advice in their ear! She will be sitting outside and will see and hear everything. Once the dates are over, it’s gran’s responsibility to choose one of them for a second date; this time, without her. She talked to me through an earpiece and she’s such a character.
But it was also a bit off-putting as I was trying to concentrate on what the boys were saying! She told me what to ask and I had to think on my feet and decide how to ask the question without sounding totally bonkers!

7 Welsh Programmes I’ve Enjoyed This Year
Not the type of programme I would usually watch, but the person who recommended it said that because the show is all about people meeting and getting to know each other, a lot of the conversation is quite useful to people who are learning Welsh. So I watched one episode, and yes – if you look at it like that, it can be helpful. I still use Pobl y Cwm as my benchmark for learning.
Frustrating though as in some episodes I kind of get the gist completely but then on others… I may have said this before here but on Clics4c there is the ability to not only tick the Welsh subtitles button but also the sain disgrifio button.

But there is a serious mistake here which we can hope to correct before it becomes a canard. He says emphasis mine :. This extraordinary level of subsidy has gone largely unremarked since S4C was set up nearly 30 years ago. Many would argue that this is a reasonable price to pay for such a prize. But such largesse is certain to come under increasing scrutiny in the forthcoming age of austerity.
This is wrong. This answer could only be correct if none of the other many S4C programmes is bringing other viewers to the channel. He should be looking at the cumulative audience for S4C which is a more difficult figure to get. Any such calculation assumes the quoted viewing figures from BARB are reliable too. As of —, S4C had an average of employees. When first established, the channel—initially broadcast on analogue television —was bilingual Welsh and English outside peak hours, with English-language content consisting of the simultaneous or deferred transmission of programmes from Channel 4 analogue reception of which was unavailable in most of Wales. When digital terrestrial television arrived several years later, S4C added a second, full-time Welsh-language channel called S4C Digidol “digital” on 1 November With the completion of the digital switchover in Wales on 31 March which made English-language Channel 4 available across Wales as S4C’s bilingual analogue channel closed, and what had been S4C Digidol became the default S4C channel, available on Freeview and pay television, and broadcasting entirely in Welsh.
S4C does not commission programming in English, but when English is used on the channel it is left untranslated. Moreover, the channel includes an English subtitle track available for some programmes, which can be accessed using their television set’s remote control. This was unsatisfactory for Welsh speakers, who saw the arrangement as a sop, and at the same time an annoyance for non-Welsh speakers, who found the English language programmes seen in the rest of the UK often rescheduled or not transmitted at all.
This traded as Teledu Cymru and provided significant levels of Welsh-language programming. However, problems with transmission infrastructure and poor market research led to financial difficulties within two years and the station was taken over by its neighbour Television Wales and the West. Both the Conservative and Labour parties promised a Welsh-language fourth channel, if elected to government in the general election.
